Positive Psychology uses your strengths to overcome roadblocks and engage in a more joyful, courageous, meaningful life. It is not about rejecting, repressing, or ignoring painful experiences. Positive psychologists may be interested in cultivating positive emotions, building healthy relationships, growing self-compassion and more.

Why

The purpose of the Carol Ackerman Positive Psychology Clinic is to provide services that help build strong, healthy individuals and families in our community, as well as provide state of the art information and training in applied Positive Psychology.

 

How

Positive psychology interventions focus on pursuing goals (rather than problems) by enhancing strengths to achieve solutions. This work emphasizes finding the good that already exists in your life, embracing a full range of emotions, and identifying pathways to living the kind of life you want to live.
